This one-of-a-kind ceramic vessel is handmade and hand-painted, inspired by my home, friends, and everyday surroundings. Each piece tells a story through its illustrated surface. Versatile and functional, this vessel can be used as a planter, tool organizer, or bowl for serving food and snacks.
Once the vessel is built, I carefully incise my drawings into the clay and incorporate monstera leaf underglaze decals. After the first firing, I sand the surface and hand-paint my illustrations with layers of underglaze (ceramic paint) to bring them to life.
The vessel is then fired a second time before being finished with selectively applied clear glaze (spot glazing) on the exterior and a colored celadon glaze on the interior. Finally, it undergoes a third firing to cone 6 (approximately 2232°F).
Care Instructions:
This vessel is food-safe and dishwasher-safe. However, to keep it looking its best, I recommend handwashing or placing it on the top rack of the dishwasher and avoiding the heated drying cycle.
